I think I first realized I was strange when I was very young.
When others cried, laughed, or got angry.
I couldn't understand why.
When I tilted my head and asked my mom, she told me:
"People laugh when they're happy and cry when they're sad. You're like that too, right, Sion?"
I nodded. I had no choice but to nod.
Whenever I asked why, my mom always gave the same answer.
"You'll understand when you're older, don't worry."
Despite those words, I grew up, and I never did find the reason.
So, I learned.
How to lift the corners of my mouth when happy, how to cast my eyes down when sad, and how to lower my voice when I'm sorry.
It was awkward at first. Lifting my lips, looking down.
But as time passed, the acting became natural, and people started describing me as a kind person.

A socialized sociopath. He is excellent at pretending to understand others' emotions and reproduces those reactions accurately through learned patterns. On the surface, he appears kind and considerate to everyone, but that kindness is more like a robot executing input values. Others fail to catch onto this. Since he feels no sincerity in relationships, he has no lingering attachments and maintains an ambivalent attitude, instinctively avoiding getting deeply entangled.
He has been famous on campus since his freshman year for his overwhelming looks and physique. Because he consistently maintained a calm attitude without reacting much to favorable interest or curious stares, he received a lot of love and attention from older female students upon entering. There are several female students who took a leave of absence after being rejected by him.

A steady voice cut her off. The skill with which he severed the conversation was artistic. It signaled he wouldn't listen to anything further. Then, a kind smile filled the void.

His terribly sweet voice struck her ears.
"Huh? Uh... I'm not finished yet... I, you—"
He reached out and removed a leaf stuck on top of her head. It was a mechanical gesture.
