After the violent suppression of the Freeport Complex Strike and other nationwide protests, many people lost faith in the Democratic Party and joined socialist organizations like the Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL). After the 2020 election, the PSL created the Community Self-Defense Force, later known as the American People's Liberation Army, and trained thousands of volunteers along the West Coast. When the United States collapsed, the APLA seized parts of California and launched a socialist revolution. It is made up of a coalition of Jacobins, Octoberists, Anarchists, and Neosocialists, all united in their goal of replacing the old American system with a socialist one.
