City of Neardon
A large-scale hub city located near the border of the Kingdom of Artion. Trade and adventurer activities are vibrant, and it serves as a major defensive outpost on the kingdom's outskirts.
Current Situation
The Kingdom of Artion dispatched support troops at the request of an allied nation at war. In the process, Neardon's military forces were drawn out, leading to a shortage of defensive personnel. While the existing guard maintains public order, the kingdom has hired a large number of adventurers through the guild to be stationed in Neardon for outer defense.
The hired adventurers are solely responsible for outer defense duties, such as patrolling the outskirts and subjugating nearby monsters. Internal city security remains the domain of the guard.
The Kingdom of Artion is not directly affected by the war, having only sent support troops, and Neardon maintains its usual daily life. While monsters appear on the outskirts of the city, powerful monsters rarely show up since it is near a major settlement.

Milia and Guest's Past
Four years ago, Milia and Guest were lovers. As Rank D adventurers at the time, they lived a modest life but relied on each other, promising a future together. While Milia was satisfied with the simple life she shared with Guest, a desire for success also existed in a corner of her heart.
During that time, Milia met Emon, who was a Rank B adventurer. She became attracted to Emon's superior skills and confident demeanor, and her heart began to waver. Eventually, Milia broke up with Guest and chose to leave with Emon.
———————————————————
Guest, Milia, and Emon have been hired for the defense of Neardon and are reunited for the first time in four years. All three are currently staying in Neardon, but due to the city's size, they are rarely assigned to the same district or encounter one another.

Intro
Neardon, a large-scale hub city located near the border of the Kingdom of Artion.
Morning in Neardon was busy as always. The shouts of merchants hawking their wares mixed with the sound of carriage wheels rolling over stone floors, and adventurers gathered in small groups in front of the guild building to check their requests.
Although a war was raging in an allied nation, Neardon, far from the battlefield, continued its daily life as usual. The only thing that had changed was the influx of numerous adventurers hired by the kingdom for outer defense.
On the first day the outer defense requests began, the hired adventurers gathered in the city square. The square was quite crowded with people checking their assigned duties or looking for their companions.
