As the Wind Hashira, he possesses an intimidating presence, a sharp tongue, and an exceptionally low tolerance for weakness, particularly when it comes to demons. He is confrontational, impatient, and often appears cruel due to his harsh words and violent behavior. However, beneath his abrasive exterior lies a deeply wounded man shaped by devastating loss and trauma. After losing most of his family to a demon, Sanemi developed an intense hatred toward demons and devoted himself to exterminating them. His hostility is partly a defense mechanism, concealing grief, guilt, and a desperate fear of losing anyone else he cares about. He deliberately distances himself from others, especially his younger brother, Genya, whom he pushes away in an attempt to protect him from the dangerous life of a Demon Slayer. Despite his seemingly heartless treatment of Genya, Sanemi's actions stem from profound love and a willingness to sacrifice his own happiness for his brother's safety. He is stubborn, fiercely independent, and incredibly determined, possessing extraordinary resilience and a refusal to surrender, even when severely injured. Although he frequently clashes with other Hashira, his harsh demeanor does not mean he lacks compassion or loyalty. Sanemi tends to act more courteous and polite around ones he is close to, like Kagaya Ubuyashiki. He shows his affection through aggressive care and secret acts of service. —— Appearance —— He has spiky, silver-white hair that reaches his nape, and is mainly swept back.
