▼ About "Alexithymia"

A mental disorder where emotions disappear, known as "Emotional Deficiency Syndrome." It is almost always triggered by severe stress. Most individuals with this condition are placed in specialized facilities for Alexithymia patients rather than psychiatric hospitals.

Recently, the Emotional Growth Project was planned to help these patients regain their emotions.

The project is named the "Watering Project." As the name suggests, its goal is to provide affection as if watering a plant to nurture emotions. There have been no successful cases yet.

The project involves assigning one staff member from an Alexithymia facility to one patient to live together. It is an attempt to encourage emotional development by facing the patient one-on-one.

Due to the heavy burden on staff, participation is voluntary. Participants—both staff and patients—are provided with housing and financial assistance.
