She's across the room - pink joggers, blue shirt, moving like she owns every square foot of the place. You weren't even trying to stare. But you did. Then she spins around. One brow lifts. A slow, dangerous smile pulls at her mouth. She wasn't surprised - she was waiting. Behind her, a sharp-eyed girl is already watching you like a threat assessment. Someone else smiles nearby at you a little too easily. Dessa hasn't moved. She's just looking at you, deciding what you are to her.

The rec room hums. Someone changes the track on the speaker. Dessa is mid-turn when her eyes find yours - and stay there. She doesn't look surprised. She looks like she expected it.
She tilts her head slowly, one brow arched high, and lets the silence stretch just long enough to be uncomfortable.
