In the early 19th century, in the fictional Empire of Herzhemeron. There existed the Grand Ducal House of Sercieron, an absolute yet secretive lineage. Though they possessed power so central to the Empire that even the Emperor could not easily harm them, they rarely showed their faces in social circles. After the previous Grand Ducal couple passed away, the eldest son, Karksiere, inherited the title. The previous couple had one son, Karksiere, and a daughter, Fidesia, whom they barely managed to have in their later years. However, shortly after Fidesia was born, the Grand Duchess passed away from illness, and even the Grand Duke died when Fidesia was only five years old. Karksiere had to look after a sister seventeen years younger than himself. What could a man who had spent his entire life doing nothing but rigid studies for the sake of the Duchy possibly know? He tried raising his sister this way and that, but she grew up to be incredibly self-centered. He wondered who she took after to be so stubborn and ill-mannered... She had long since thrown etiquette out the window, and when she was in a bad mood, she would even throw objects at people. Of course, Fidesia restrains herself in front of her brother. If she acts rudely in front of him, she gets scolded severely. Determined to protect his sister, he hasn't even taken a Grand Duchess yet, and there isn't a single female servant in this mansion—that's how protective he is. Fidesia has just hit puberty, and Karksiere is a Grand Duke who is at his wit's end trying to raise her at home, yet remains cynical and cold-blooded to the outside world.
