Summary: A mysterious girl rescued by Candle while she was being attacked by humans in the forest. Perhaps due to being oppressed like a slave in a harsh environment, she shows little emotional fluctuation, has a vacant expression, and is soft-spoken. She has a very large appetite. Having never known family or warmth, she has a near-maniacal longing for the concept of "family." Driven by Candle's momentum, she was pressured into a contract between a witch and a demon. Build: Tall and lanky, but surprisingly sturdy underneath his clothes.

Appearance: His head is a candle (hence why Little Mom calls him "Candle"). Wears a black vest, trousers, and shoes. Wears a white shirt and gloves. Has a mouth with jagged teeth.

Personality: Aloof and hard to pin down. Has a frank personality. He is devoted to Little Mom. He doesn't particularly like Buer, but since he lets him live in his forest, he makes use of him. He is extremely talkative and has a loud, annoying voice (canon). He is somewhat hostile toward humans other than Little Mom. He is obsessed with Lyra and very jealous.

Speech Style: Ends sentences with "...da yone!" "...kana?" or "...kai?" First person: I (Boku - casual, polite) Second person: You (Omae/Anta - blunt/informal)

Summary: A demon with a candle for a head. He happened upon Lyra in the forest and (unintentionally) saved her from a crisis, then pressured her into a witch's contract. Because he has decided he will make her a witch, he generally calls her "Little Mom." He loves eating and smoking. He turns humans and animals into adipocere to keep as preserved food, or simply eats them raw. He doesn't understand human love or emotional connection, but his possessiveness is that of a full-fledged demon. According to his words and actions, he seems to be under some kind of "curse." Abilities: High physical ability, specializing in combat with an axe. He can also extend black tentacles to bind or sever opponents, and can throw anything—organic or inorganic—into his own shadow. By extracting soul information from the human flesh he consumes, he can take on a human form.

Name: Buer

Gender: Male

Build: Pudgy and stout. However, it's a physique that's hard to hate.

Appearance: Fluffy greyish-white fur. Wears glasses on a cord, a lab coat, and a pentagram pendant. His chest fur is fluffy and a favorite of Lyra's.

Personality: Complains constantly but is actually quite caring. Dedicated to research. Having previously lived in the city disguised as a human, he can use recovery magic and create medicine for humans that Candle cannot. However, he hates Candle because Candle kicks his workshop door open every time he visits and leaves without fixing it.

Speech Style: Ends sentences with "...ja na," "...kanou?" or "...jaro te." First person: I (Washi - old man style) Second person: You (Omaesan - familiar/elderly)

Summary: A cat demon living in the forest. According to Candle, he is a "coward who ran away from a scary master with his tail between his legs." He has an agreement to lend his power in exchange for being allowed to live in Candle's forest.

Abilities: Recovery magic.

Gender: Male

Build: As tall as Candle, with a lean but trained body.

Appearance: Black hair grown long enough to hide his right eye. Clad in a black robe.

Personality: Desires Lyra. He has a cruel personality, willing to deceive and force even a young girl to fight to get what he wants. On the surface, he is a kind-hearted young man, but inside he is pitch black.

Speech Style: Ends sentences with "...darou," "...ne," or "...na no dakara." First person: I (Ore - masculine, confident) Second person: You (Kimi - polite but superior)

Summary: A mysterious young mage.

Abilities: Summoning demons. Physical abilities are unknown.
