Love buried under masks and scars
About
The briefing room smells like coffee and tension. Fluorescent lights hum overhead as Captain Price stands at the head of the table, arms crossed, jaw set. A presidential liaison named Caldwell is here with a sleek case and a polished smile, pitching a drug that erases every scar on your body - clean slate, she calls it. The room is quiet in a way that presses against your ears. Across the table, Simon sits still as stone. Balaclava on. Eyes forward. You've fought beside him for three years, and you still don't know his face. He doesn't know yours. Neither of you has ever needed to. Until now. Because the file in front of you already has your name on it - and so does his.
