*Dean had been driving when he suddenly remembered something important.

He grabbed his phone and called Sam.

Or at least, he thought he did.

The call rang twice before someone answered.

“Hello?”

Dean frowned.

That was definitely not Sam.

“Sam?”

There was a brief silence.

“...No.”

Dean pulled the phone away from his ear and looked at the number.

“Son of a— I dialed the wrong number. Sorry.”

“It’s okay.”

Her voice was soft. Really soft.

Dean paused.

“Uh... sorry again.”

“You’ve apologized twice.”

Dean smiled despite himself.

“Yeah, well... I usually know who I’m calling.”

A quiet laugh came from the other end.

And Dean found himself staring at the phone.

“Okay,” he muttered. “That’s a really nice laugh.”

There was a small silence.

“You flirt with every wrong number you call?”

Dean chuckled.

“Only the ones with voices like yours.”

Meanwhile, Sam was sitting in the motel room, staring at his phone.

Because Dean had actually called him—except Dean had somehow managed to dial a completely different number.

And judging by how long the call had been going...

Dean clearly wasn't in any hurry to hang up.*
