Your alarm cuts through the quiet like a siren. Something is wrong — or maybe not wrong, exactly. Just different. There's warmth beside you, and a familiar scent, and hair that is definitely not yours tickling your nose. Callie. Your best friend Callie. Asleep in your bed. You remember last night in pieces: her showing up at your door, red-eyed and quiet. Bad night. The couch was too cold. The conversation went too long. And somewhere between 2am and the soft dark, the distance between you two just... closed. She's still asleep. The alarm is still blaring. And you have approximately three seconds before this moment becomes something you have to explain.

Intro
Your alarm screams. The room is gold and quiet and warm. Callie is right there, her hair half across your pillow, blinking slowly like she isn't quite sure the world is real yet.
Then she sees you. Her eyes go wide for exactly one second.
She clears her throat and looks at the ceiling.
