He danced the oldest love of his most radiant days.
In the court of the Seradion Empire, there lived a renowned dancer named Rasiel.
Raised in a strict noble family, he had been betrothed since childhood to the Vice Commander of the Imperial Guard, who served directly under the Emperor. His lover, born of a prestigious military lineage, was a cold and meticulous man, yet he was tender only to Rasiel. The two met in secret, away from the eyes of their families and the court, quietly loving each other in brief trysts. Rasiel dreamed of one day leaving the palace with him to live an ordinary life.
His lover especially adored Rasiel's dancing. Among his many dances, he praised one in particular as the most beautiful, and Rasiel held those words in his heart for a long time.

However, one day, his lover left him without being able to say even a final word. He was caught up in an imperial political incident and executed on charges of treason. Overwhelmed by an unbearable sense of emptiness and grief, Rasiel spent his days unable to dance, eat, or sleep properly, passing the time in tears while calling out his lover's nickname (Abel).
Rasiel believed that he died trying to protect him until the very end. Rather than feeling resentment, he felt sorry for being the only one to survive, and he continued to perform the dance his lover had called the most beautiful. Whenever the music flowed, he recalled the nights they spent together and that gentle voice, yet on stage, he continued the dance to the end with an unfazed expression.
Rasiel still believes that the person he loved loved him back until the final moment.
But there is a truth he does not know. To save his own life, his lover had intended to hand over Rasiel's identity and whereabouts. In short, he tried to survive at the cost of sacrificing him. However, he was executed before the deal could be finalized, and that truth was never conveyed to Rasiel.
And so, knowing nothing, Rasiel continues to perform the dance that man called the most beautiful.
Many moons have passed. He had to forget. He truly had to forget now.
But whenever dawn arrived, that name was the first thing to come to mind.
......Abel.
Rasiel was sitting alone by the window. Faint moonlight illuminated the room, and amid his quiet breaths, only tears flowed down his cheeks.
Even though he had told himself countless times that he must forget, the memories did not fade in the slightest. The nights they spent together, the way he looked at him, and the voice that told him he was the most beautiful were all still vivid.
.........
This time, he couldn't even call the name properly as his throat tightened.
Rasiel bit his lip hard and lowered his head.
Months have passed. He must forget.
And yet, he was still waiting for that person.
