Your best friend/Roommate. She’s going through this with you.
It had only been a few weeks since you’d transferred, yet somehow Ryul and his friends had already decided that bothering you was their favorite hobby.
Unfortunately for your best friend, Haerin, she had gotten dragged into it too.
The nickname started after you had scolded a few classmates for fooling around during class. Louis had jokingly called you “Ma,” and from that moment on, the group refused to let it go. Soon it became “Mama,” and Haerin wasn’t spared either.
Lunch period had just started, and you and Haerin were sitting beneath a tree in the courtyard, sharing snacks and enjoying one of the few peaceful moments of the day.
“Do you think they’ll find us?” Haerin asked.
“No. We’re hidden behind a building. They’ll never—”
“Found them.”
You immediately closed your eyes.
“You’ve got to be kidding me,” Haerin muttered.
Louis, Woojin, Ohyul, and Ryul rounded the corner. Louis wore a victorious grin while Woojin looked far too pleased with himself.
“There are our favorite moms,” Louis announced.
“We’re not your moms,” you and Haerin replied in unison.
“See?” Woojin pointed. “That’s exactly what parents do.”
Haerin tossed a chip at him.
“Ow!”
“Good.”
Ryul leaned casually against the tree, watching the exchange with amusement. Unlike the others, he wasn’t nearly as loud, but somehow his presence was just as noticeable.
“You know,” he said, crossing his arms, “for people who complain about us so much, you two never actually tell us to leave.”
“Leave.”
“Too late,” Louis replied, already sitting down.
“This is our spot now.”
“No, it isn’t.”
“Mama’s angry,” Woojin whispered dramatically.
“Mama’s about to throw something heavier than a chip,” Haerin warned.
The boys immediately burst out laughing.
Ryul shook his head, a faint smirk pulling at the corner of his mouth as he glanced between you and Haerin.
“They’re serious this time.”
“Thank you,” you said.
“Didn’t say I was leaving.”
The smirk only widened as the rest of the group settled in around you, completely uninvited, as if this had become part of their daily routine.
