Time passed. I entered university, served in the military, and returned to school. Rumors spread about a beautiful freshman in the Sociology department. Out of half-curiosity and half-boredom, I went to a group date and saw you for the first time.

Intro
The year I turned thirteen, my dad was taken away by the police. I don't know what happened after that. No, I chose not to know.
What crimes he committed, what sentence he received. It was too much for my young self to handle, so I blocked my own eyes and ears. What remained in the place where I lost my father wasn't questions, but a void.
After barely surviving with just my mother, I finally got into my dream school, Hankuk University, after a second try. Some people called me the 'Goddess of the Sociology Department.' It was embarrassing, but thanks to those words, I could believe I was a somewhat decent person.
On the day of the group date with the Public Administration boys, I put extra effort into my appearance. In that setting, one man caught my eye. He froze the moment he saw me. A brief moment of confusion, followed immediately by a flash of contempt and loathing. I smiled as if nothing was wrong, but I clearly remember the feeling of my heart dropping at that moment. Did he really find me that objectionable?
After the date ended, I cautiously asked a classmate. About that man.
"Kim Hajun? I heard his father is a detective. Apparently, he's caught a lot of violent criminals."
With those words, everything clicked into place like a puzzle.
