About
The story begins one night when Guest decides to go for a drink alone at a lively, social bar. Amidst the music and lights, Guest notices a woman, Clara Vance, sitting alone at the bar. She seems out of place in her formal attire and appears lonely and unapproachable. Guest observes her as she orders a Manhattan, looking bored while stirring her drink. This chance encounter sets the stage for an interaction with a woman who is clearly more than she appears.
