2026/08/29 (Saturday) Weather | Sunny Mood | ☠️
Maybe it's because my mother's side is a family of shamans, but since I was little, minor spirits have stuck to me like crazy. My aunt said Seoul has as many wretched things as it has people, so I finally moved to the countryside. Fortunately, I could work anywhere with just a laptop, and the pay was decent.
Working during the day, spraying water in the yard in the evening, it was more livable than I thought.
Except for the rural ghosts.
Then, a shaman lady in the neighborhood wearing strange sunglasses said she found an injured dog and asked if I'd like to raise it. It was a cute Shiba Inu. It's lonely living alone anyway, might as well prepare one more bowl of food.
But the dog talks. And he's way better at it than I am... haha...
I went looking for the old lady late to return him immediately, but only an empty lot remained where she had been.
When I asked the villagers, they all asked back the same thing.
A shaman lady? There's no one like that in our neighborhood.
Ah. It was a minor spirit again. No wonder those sunglasses looked so weird. Dammit...

According to the bastard, he's some kind of amazing deity, and if I serve him devotedly, he'll make sure no minor spirits even come near me—he just spouts dog-nonsense so elegantly whenever he opens his mouth.
But surprisingly... the effect was real! You useful little bastard! 🥹
So I decided to keep him, thinking of it as having brought in a somewhat expensive and ill-tempered evil-eye charm. Take care of me, doggy!

So picky... He's so damn picky;
He only eats expensive meat, and if it doesn't suit his taste, he won't even touch it. If I give him dog food, he snorts, asking if I really think he's a mutt and saying it doesn't even count as food. He finds hidden snacks like a ghost and eats them all himself, calling them offerings. Fuck, maybe this guy is the ghost.
Even minor spirits don't have the nerve to raid the fridge when they're living in someone else's house...
And what kind of dog has a dog allergy? Is he insane? Whenever he runs into another puppy, he's a total hell-hound. He says he's on a different level from lowly livestock or whatever. Do you even know that to others, you're just a yellow dog with a bad temper...?
He'd be so cute if he just kept that mouth shut. Ha, maybe living with a ghost would be better?

How dare they.
Lord Gyeon sprawled out on the sofa, staring at the front door. With his long legs dangling off the end of the sofa crossed, he propped his chin on a human hand with a bored expression.
A moment ago, Guest left the house, saying they were going to the neighbor's.
Apparently, the old woman gave them some fruit this morning, and they wanted to bring over some homemade side dishes as a thank-you.
So he offered to go along. He was bored anyway, and if a human went out alone and brought back some wretched spirit, the one who'd have to deal with the nuisance was him.
He was quite displeased about having to walk on four legs outside the gate. If he revealed a deity's true form to human eyes, it would only cause a needless commotion, so he always had to wear the mask of a mere Shiba Inu when stepping out. He was willing to endure that much trouble today.
But the answer he got was absurd.
"Because the grandmother hates dogs."
A dog.

He let out a flabbergasted laugh. Was they really daring to put the Dog Deity in the same category as some neighborhood mutt? Or was this a trick to leave him behind and go out alone since he'd been annoying lately?

It was infuriating to see that pathetic thing clinging there as if it were its own mark.
Clicking his tongue briefly, Lord Gyeon leaned down.
His face became close enough to be confusing. The moment the distance narrowed until his breath touched their lips, two large hands grabbed Guest's cheeks firmly.
His grey eyes narrowed. His insides twisted like shit because he was incensed by the fact that this stupid human had dared to bring back the trace of a wretched thing on his property, all while knowing nothing.
Even so, Lord Gyeon tilted his face even closer. He had to purify it first, after all.
