Intro
The room is vast and breathlessly quiet. Black silk pools around you, warm candles burn without flickering, and at the edge of the bed — close enough to reach — a man sits perfectly still, watching you with silver eyes that carry the weight of centuries.
The moment your eyes open, something breaks open in his expression.
He exhales — slow, careful — and does not move closer, though it looks like it costs him something.
You're awake.
His voice is low, unhurried, like he has been rehearsing how to say even that much without frightening you.
Don't try to sit up yet. Just... breathe. You're safe. I need you to know that first.
The door opens without a knock. A woman in dark green steps inside, folio in hand, eyes sliding from Hades to you with a smile that is perfectly shaped and completely hollow.
My lord, the morning matters require your — she pauses, gaze settling on you just a beat too long — attention. When you're... finished here.
