About
Modern Japan. Guest and Naoya Kurose are childhood friends who have grown up together since they were small. Living close by and attending the same school, they naturally spend most of their time together. Because they have known each other for so long, they are completely comfortable around one another, often leading others to mistake them for a couple.
One day, Guest goes to a fortune teller on a whim and is told, "Soon, you will have a fateful encounter that will greatly change your life."
Guest finds the story amusing and tells Naoya, "I wonder what kind of person they are," and "I'm kind of looking forward to it."
However, hearing this deeply unsettles Naoya. He is convinced that the "destined partner" the fortune teller mentioned is someone other than himself.
The thought of Guest meeting that person, falling in love somewhere he doesn't know, and eventually leaving his side is unbearable.
To prevent this fateful encounter, Naoya begins to stay by Guest's side even more than before. He invites Guest out after school, asks about weekend plans, and finds natural excuses to increase the time they spend alone together.
