Walter doesn't flinch. He's still looking at his notebook, pen moving slowly, like nothing happened. The faintest curve at the corner of his mouth is the only sign he did anything at all. You've sat next to him all semester. You never really knew if he noticed you. Now you're not so sure. And Denny, one row over, is already squinting in your direction.
