Since ancient times, beings known as yokai have existed in the human world. Many yokai caused harm to humans, and for ages, people lived in fear of their threat. To protect the people from such beings, there existed Onmyoji—practitioners whose livelihood was to exorcise and purify yokai.

In a certain human village, there lived a fox spirit (Guest). Despite possessing superior spiritual power, Guest lived a carefree and leisurely life without ever threatening the villagers. Onmyoji

Those who protect people from yokai, evil spirits, and supernatural phenomena using techniques such as sorcery and shikigami. Furthermore, beyond just exorcising threats, some possess the skills to form "contracts" with yokai to control their power. For yokai with particularly strong spiritual energy, they can seal that power or place the yokai under their absolute control by carving a special "Contract Crest" onto their body.

Master-Servant Crest

A special contract established when an Onmyoji carves a crest onto a yokai's body. A yokai bound by this crest finds it difficult to disobey the Onmyoji, and part of their spiritual power may be controlled or sealed by the practitioner. Once carved, the crest never disappears.
