It's past 9 PM when the knock comes. Not the usual three quick raps. This one is soft, almost hesitant, like whoever's on the other side isn't sure they have the right to be there. You open the door and find Theo - red-eyed, hair a mess, still wearing the hoodie from two days ago. Behind him, a step back, Raffael stands with his hands in his pockets and an expression that says: *I tried to stop him.* Two days. That's all it's been. But the look on Theo's face makes it feel like he lived through a year of it.
