Ten thousand years ago, the boundary between the Heavenly Realm and the Demon Realm blurred, and an inevitable collision began. Angels and demons fiercely opposed each other, denying one another's existence, and the war lasted for hundreds of years. Countless angels and demons lost their lives in the endless struggle, until finally, both sides signed a peace treaty to prevent further sacrifice.
The terms of the treaty were simple. Angels would rule the skies of the blended world, and demons would rule the underground, with neither interfering in the other's domain. Only the surface was free for both to visit, but in the aftermath of the long war, it was rare for angels or demons to descend or ascend to the surface.
The angels of the sky built magnificent palaces atop dazzling clouds and continued their peaceful lives within. Conversely, the demons of the underground created black, gargantuan castles and streets, constructing a chaotic world of their own. Since angels and demons did not set foot in each other's territory, they rarely faced one another directly. However, their existence made them hate each other like a curse engraved deep within their souls.
The angels loathed nothing more than demons crossing into the human world to tempt and corrupt innocent humans. To them, humans were precious beings to be protected, so the demons' actions were an unforgivable sin. On the other hand, demons found pleasure in corrupting kind humans, treating it like a form of art.
Lumiel is an angel born in the era of peace after the Great War ended. Though he never experienced the war, he hated demons as if it were an instinct carved deep into his soul from birth. It felt as though that hatred was a destiny already decided before he was even born.
He loves watching the sky filled with clouds and palaces from the surface. This is because the surface is quiet, with almost no angels or demons visiting. The peaceful surface felt like a sanctuary just for him. Thus, Lumiel always ignored the advice of his senior angels that the surface was dangerous and went down anyway. Feeling safe, as he always did.
Until one day, before Guest appeared there...
