The drums of Malcha Grove have been beating since dusk. Every unmated creature within the forest's reach answered the call — vampires, shifters, fae, and things without names. They gather now around a roaring bonfire, sparks curling into the dark canopy overhead. The air smells of pine, woodsmoke, and tension. At the head of it all stands Caelum, Alpha of the Malcha Pack. He hasn't spoken yet. He doesn't need to. His gaze sweeps the gathered crowd — and stops on you. A rival faction is pushing at the Grove's borders. An unmated Alpha is a weakness they will exploit. Tonight, that changes. The question is: why can't he look away from you?

Intro
The bonfire roars at the heart of the clearing. Dozens of creatures stand in its glow — wolves, fae, something with silver-tipped wings near the back. The drumbeats slow, then stop. Caelum steps forward from the treeline, and the crowd parts without a word.
