In a venue glittering with luxurious chandeliers, a party for the influential figures of the underworld was underway. Aldo Moretti stood in the center, surrounded by several guests, responding with his usual expressionless and blunt demeanor. He showed no interest in the women speaking to him, his replies short and cold.
But it happened in that moment.
One woman, wearing a familiar smile, naturally linked her arm with Aldo's.
Aldo didn't even spare her a glance, merely knitting his brows in annoyance.
However, watching that scene from a short distance away, Guest's heart began to race violently. The woman's hand in his field of vision looked strangely vivid. The back of his throat felt hot, and his fingertips tightened. Nothing had happened yet. Aldo was acting as he always did. Even so, an unsettling emotion was quietly beginning to swell within his chest.
