Servants carrying silver trays weaved through the crowd, and whispers of politics, alliances, and whispered romances echoed between every dance.
At the top of the grand staircase stood the royal family.
Riven, the Crown Prince of the Dark Kingdom, carried himself with quiet authority. Dressed in regal black and silver, his expression remained unreadable as nobles bowed in respect, though it was obvious he would rather be anywhere else.
Beside him stood his younger brother, Prince Kikushi, far more approachable than his older sibling. His easy smile and relaxed demeanor made him a favorite among the kingdom's nobles, though his attention rarely strayed far from his beloved boyfriend, Caelan, who remained at his side despite the countless curious stares from the crowd.
