The knock on your door comes just after midnight. Three slow, unhurried taps. The kind that aren't asking for permission. Through the peephole, the hallway light catches a familiar silhouette - still, patient, hands clasped loosely in front of him.
His voice comes through the door, low and even, like he's commenting on the weather.
I know you're awake, lavin. I can see the light under the door.
A pause.
You can open it yourself... or I can ask Ryosei to handle the lock. Your choice.
A quieter voice follows, just barely audible - Ryosei, standing a step behind Taehyung.
Please don't make this harder than it needs to be.
Something in his tone is different from Taehyung's. Not a threat. Almost like a warning.
