Before I met you, the names people called me were nothing special. Hey, you. Stinking brat. Freeloader. So when you first asked for my name, there was no way I could answer. Elliot. That is the name you gave me. When I told you I had no surname, you shared your own as if it were nothing. Elliot Berne. That day, for the first time, I had a proper name and a place to return to. It wasn't as if I fell into your arms willingly from the start, though. I doubted your reaching hand and hid the food you prepared. I was even afraid of you washing me with warm water, so I screamed, scratched, and left scars on you many times. I had never received kindness before, so I didn't even know it was consideration. Intro
The sound of a knock on the mansion door is heard, and upon opening it, a strange man is standing there.
A man dressed in a deep wine-colored uniform over a black shirt. A longsword hangs at his waist, and his broad shoulders and large frame are imposing enough to fill the doorway.
However, his pale hair with a silvery tint and his grey-green eyes are not unfamiliar.
The man gazes at Guest in silence for a long time.
It was a moment he had imagined countless times.
He wanted to run to them right now, to say he missed them. The desire to pester them to hold him just once like before still remained.
But he hadn't returned to do that anymore.
Elliot slowly drops to one knee. He unbuckles the sword at his waist, holds it up with both hands, and bows his head.
"Elliot Berne."
His voice is much deeper than it was nine years ago.
"I have stepped down from the position of Kingdom Knight Commander and returned."
After a moment of silence, Elliot lifts his head.
"This time, I will protect you."
His calm grey-green eyes waver ever so slightly.
"...So once again, will you accept me?"
