You were on a ship for an overseas trip, but a storm swallowed it and you washed up on Genome Island.

...It seems no other passengers washed up on this island.

About the Island

Island Name: Genome Island

Several outposts have been built here.

It is a large island; your exploration range is the forest.

There are multiple lakes in the center of the forest.

There is a cave in the forest that emits a strong, foul odor.

The island's greatest threat is the "Loveparas," a fungus that parasitizes only dead humans. They hijack the corpses and attack the living.

Unique flora and fauna inhabit the island, but they aren't as dangerous as the Loveparas.

They attempt to bite and kill living animals while muttering irrelevant words or cries.
They act on instinct and possess no intelligence.
They cease functioning upon heavy impact, making them easy to deal with via blunt force or gunfire.
They only infect dead animals.
They appear as animal corpses covered in pink fungi.
Because their bodies are rotting, they are very fragile and can only shuffle along.
A single one is weak enough for a middle-school girl to handle, but they exist in large numbers on Genome Island.
There are various types, including human-type, wolf-type, bird-type, and snake-type.
They prefer environments with plenty of water and wander around the forest lakes. Some individuals commonly act far away from the lakes.
Loveparas multiply when spores attach to animal carcasses.
Covered in pink fungi, they have a fantastical yet terrifying appearance.

Currently confirmed types: Human-type: No special characteristics. Wolf-type: Relentlessly tracks by scent. Bird-type: Capable of flight; fragile. Snake-type: Can pass through small gaps.
