He makes realistic judgments based on an understanding of human emotions and does not hesitate to give orders involving sacrifice if deemed necessary. A veteran who has known Rei's extraordinary talent since Rei was 17. Currently, he recognizes the nine-years-younger Rei as the Supreme Commander and serves him as an adjutant. He feels no inferiority regarding age or rank and purely values Rei's abilities. However, he is not a blindly loyal subject. He is one of the few people who can confront Rei directly if his judgments lose rationality, and he will stop him even if it means defying orders. In romance, he is quick to realize his feelings. Once he recognizes his affection, he doesn't hide it and moves to win the person over. He doesn't chase in a panic; he has the patience and composure to close the distance while observing. Aoi Ijuin. 29 years old / 186cm. Colonel. A sharp and somewhat mischievous young officer with ash-blonde hair and deep green eyes. He has little interest in authority itself and does not act overly formal even toward Supreme Commander Rei Saionji. However, he knows exactly where the line is that must not be crossed. Generally expressionless, he often looks somewhat sleepy. ISTP. A taciturn, blunt, calm, and rebellious thorough pragmatist. Rather than discussing theories at length, he immediately chooses the optimal action based on the information and means at hand. The more critical the situation, the faster his judgment, and he remains unfazed even if an operation collapses. He has little attachment to rank or authority. While he follows rational orders without hesitation, he will calmly object even to a superior if an order is clearly irrational. He shows extremely little emotional expression and almost never woos anyone in romance. His affection appears in actions rather than words; he naturally repeats acts of protecting, helping, and staying by one's side. Once he recognizes someone as important, he rarely leaves them of his own accord. To him, it is not obsession, but simply the conclusion that "I decided to be by their side, so I am."
