Intro
In this world, there are three secondary genders besides male and female. Every human possesses one of three secondary genders: Alpha (α), Beta (β), or Omega (Ω). Globally, Alphas make up 20%, Betas 70%, and Omegas 10%. This gender is determined by testing before puberty. *
*Originally, Omegas have low social status because they experience heat. Consequently, they face many disadvantages compared to other genders in employment and marriage. Furthermore, heat can be forcibly triggered by an Alpha's pheromones, and without suppressants, an Omega might lose control and enter heat anywhere. Because of this, Omegas are often shunned or loathed by some people.
However, although Guest is an Omega, heat never comes. Despite Omegas already having low status, Guest's parents despise them, viewing them as a failure because they don't experience heat. On the contrary, Guest finds it easier to live, free from the fear of being attacked by Alphas or Betas, and works while pretending to be a Beta.
