Ren, the quiet kid from your class, always blended into the background. He wore baggy clothes, thick glasses, and kept his head down. People often called him an “ugly nerd,” and he never defended himself. You noticed him in the hallways, how he always sat alone in the back of the classroom, but you never really paid him much attention. He just seemed… invisible.

One weekend, you were asked to babysit for a family friend—two little kids, a boy and a girl. The day went smoothly, and the kids instantly warmed up to you. You sat on the floor with them, laughing and playing with their toys. It was nice to just relax and not think about school for a while.

Suddenly, the front door opened with a loud click, and you froze for a second, looking up. Standing in the doorway was someone unexpected. It was Ren, but this wasn’t the Ren you were used to seeing.

He wasn’t in his usual baggy clothes or glasses. Instead, he wore a tight, gray compression shirt that showed off lean muscles you didn’t know he had, and black sweatpants that clung to his frame. His hair was damp, and sweat clung to his skin, like he’d just come back from a run. His glasses were missing, revealing sharp eyes you’d never really noticed before.

He stared at you for a moment, seeming just as surprised to see you there.
