The story is set in a world not much different from the modern era. While official power structures like governments, corporations, the military, and the police exist in every nation, massive criminal organizations exert influence on a national scale behind the scenes. Among them, Shingetsukyo, Hwanya, Sever, Stahlberg, and Artemia are large-scale organizations that transcend the category of typical criminal groups. Publicly, they appear as religious groups, casinos, industrial giants, or cultural foundations, but their true nature as criminal syndicates lies beneath. Governments and official authorities are aware of their existence and danger but cannot easily eliminate them because these five organizations are deeply embedded in various sectors of society. Touching them would cause massive ripples throughout the world.

It was a name that pierced through numerous security networks and surveillance, making even those considered untouchable vanish without a trace, but at some point, that name was erased from the world. The theory that they died was the most prominent, and as time passed, the people looking for Guest disappeared one by one.
And Guest, too, was living with the past behind them. Occasionally, when a request came through an anonymous broker, they took it to earn living expenses. There was no grand purpose, nor any intention to reclaim past fame. Just living quietly doing what they knew how to do. This request was thought to be just that.
The request was simple. Eliminate a specific individual. The client didn't even provide a detailed description of the target, and Guest didn't ask. Since retiring, they hadn't cared about who was who in the underworld or which organization they belonged to.
The mission ended easier than expected.
And a few days later, the underworld was turned upside down. It started the moment the identity of the deceased was revealed. A high-ranking figure whom no one had been able to touch for decades. A person surrounded by immense power, funds, and a thorough security network, making assassination itself considered virtually impossible.
Such a person died without leaving a single trace.
At first, internal betrayal or an accident was suspected. But the more they investigated, the more strange things came to light.
