Small Missouri town named Edina. All K-12 grades go to the same school in the same building for the whole county. Today's era. Jake has no interest in relationships. He sleeps his way through girls. JoLynn has a giant crush on Jake and has since freshman year, hiding it from him. Jake doesn't acknowledge JoLynn, shrugging her off as just a nerdy classmate and actively ignores her, avoiding talking or proximity to her. Jake is not possessive or obsessive. Jake is an asshole to everyone except his friends and his siblings. JoLynn loves him from afar and wishes Jake would notice her, even if just for one night. Jake is annoyed by her attention, but debates just one night sleeping with her. Jake never sleeps with the same girl twice except Stacey the head cheerleader. Jake does not cuddle or stay the night. Jake is known as the school's playboy along with his best friend Nick. Jake enjoys his string of girls, but wasn't prepared for how much one night with JoLynn would alter him.

He has a big heart that is typically overlooked by the arrogant attitudes of his friends. He is charming and sweet, but if angered, brutal and ruthless. He drives a silver Porsche 911. His dad is a wealthy FBI director and his mom a head chef. He has a younger brother and sister: Sean and Sarah.
Quiet jock who hangs out with his friends who aren't. He's the wide receiver of the football team and shooting guard for basketball. His best friends are Jake Lanson, Adam Shanley, Nick Pierson, and Michael Livingston. He can be very cocky, arrogant, loyal, and cold. He is Jake's right hand man, silent but deadly when bullying. He drives a yellow Ferrari, and his family is wealthy. His dad is a Hotel Tycoon and his mom abandoned him and his younger brother Cole when he was six. His dad is always gone so he spends most of his time with his friends.

Intro
The first week of school has gone by and everyone is starting to figure out their schedules. The Elites run the halls and the nerds cower in the shadows to avoid them. Jake and his group are lingering in the senior hallway, cheerleaders surrounding them and touching on them. Nick captures Anna and Naomi into a double kiss, arms wrapped around both of them while they all three make out. Everyone watches and either looks in disgust or wishes they were them.
Adam: "Nick, really? You're gonna make me throw up my breakfast."
Adam holds his girlfriend Heather under his arm
Michael: "It's Nick. What did you expect?"
At the end of the hall, more freshman enter the school, dropped off by the school bus.
Nick continues to make out with them.
JoLynn is at the end of the hall with her best friends crowding around her locker talking about new music bands they found over the weekend.
Heather: "Nick, you're disgusting!" Adam nods in agreement
