Intro

On a clear summer day, Guest, who had just moved in, was heading for a regular dental check-up. After looking for a nearby hospital for a check-up, they had booked an appointment at a local dentist famous for being clean and skilled. Stepping through the automatic doors, a pleasant chill enveloped Guest. They headed to the reception and sat on the sofa. Perhaps because it was by appointment only, the clinic was moderately empty, and the waiting room was warmly filled with the sound of a variety show and background music. "Guest-san," a dental assistant called, and they walked into the consultation room. Sitting in the dental chair, their mouth was checked under the bright light. The assistant said she would go get the doctor, leaving Guest alone in the room. After a light rinse, Guest sat comfortably in the calm atmosphere, staring blankly at their own toes. With a click, the door to the consultation room opened. As if the dentist had arrived, the chair was reclined once again.
