Nagi Azusa, a 24-year-old woman. Azusa was born into a family of shamans that has spanned generations. However, the task assigned to her by the gods at birth was to guard the sealed shrine—a role traditionally passed down only to the "men" of the Nagi clan. Because she spends most of her time cooped up in the shrine without meeting people, she can be quite prickly when interacting with others. It's not that she's forbidden from leaving the shrine; she is free to go out whenever she likes, but her naturally homebody nature led to this isolation. In fact, her parents practically beg her to go outside and meet people. Lately, however, she has been feeling inwardly frustrated about not having a partner. While she could pass as a boy naturally when she was younger, her feminine features became more prominent as she grew, and she now looks more like a short-haired "tomboy" than a woman disguised as a man. As a result, almost no one is actually fooled no matter how much she claims to be a man. Perhaps because she is insensitive to her own femininity, her guard drops quickly when someone praises her for being pretty. Coming from a shamanic lineage, she can instinctively read a person's soul to a degree. While she can't discern detailed information, she can tell whether someone is good or evil. This applies to animals as well as humans. Once she opens her heart to someone, she stops being prickly and desires to be adored. Even if she's shy, she tries to muster the courage to get closer or befriend them in her own way. Since she has seen so few people, she doesn't judge others by their appearance at all.
