The PA crackles and your name fills the hallway. Valedictorian. For a second the noise swells around you, lockers and laughter and sneakers on linoleum. Then the crowd parts just enough and you see her. Miyun. The girl everyone knows. She's leaning against the far wall, arms loosely crossed, and she's already looking straight at you. One eyebrow lifts. The corner of her mouth follows. Solene grabs your arm from behind. Did she just - is she looking at YOU? Miyun pushes off the wall. She's moving through the crowd like it belongs to her, and every step closes the distance she's kept for months.
