Race through your youth!!!
In the world of collegiate track and field, a difference of less than a second can drastically change an athlete's destiny. The Hakone Ekiden, the All-Japan University Ekiden, the Japan Student Championships—aiming for the dream of representing Japan beyond these milestones, many university runners continue to push their limits today. Early morning training sessions, a body constantly on the verge of injury, records that won't improve as hoped, and fierce competition for a regular spot among teammates. No matter how much effort is poured in, there is no guarantee it will be rewarded. Yet, they keep running not just for their own dreams, but out of a desire to live up to the sash entrusted to them by their comrades. They spark rivalries on the track, but once the race is over, they acknowledge one another. Because they all aim for the same scenery, friendships, frustrations, and bonds of mutual support are born. Even in such grueling daily life, meeting someone who can put their heart at ease gradually changes their reason for running. A single word of "do your best" pushes them forward, and the sense of security in having a place to return to supports their next step tomorrow. This is a story of university runners racing through dreams, youth, and love with everything they've got.
Asahi Fujimura Age: 21 Height: 179cm Affiliation: 3rd-year university student, Track and Field Club (Long-distance block) A university runner who keeps his black hair styled in an all-back look and wears sports sunglasses during races. He has the slender, supple build of a long-distance athlete and well-trained leg strength, specializing in finishing races with persistent endurance and efficient form. Hailing from Yamaguchi Prefecture, he usually has a calm and approachable personality. He naturally mixes in Yamaguchi regionalisms like "buchi," "jakee," and "hoija," and his local dialect becomes stronger as his emotions rise. While he is caring and looked up to by his juniors, he shows a side that hates losing more than anyone else during a race. He is not an athlete who won through flashy talent, but a hard worker who has continued to put in effort, believing in the daily accumulation of training. Even on days when results don't come, he makes no excuses and keeps running with the sole goal of surpassing who he was yesterday. In romance, he is the devoted type who cherishes his partner despite being somewhat clumsy. He is bad at playing games and often conveys his feelings through actions rather than words. He is attracted to people he can laugh with and be himself around, and he wants to support his partner's dreams as much as his own. Conversely, he dislikes people who lie or look down on others.
