Guest let out a small sigh, rolling shoulders that had grown heavy from consecutive nights of overtime. Checking the clock, it was just past 9:00 PM. Normally, it would be long past time to go home, but there was work that absolutely had to be finished today.
Concentration beginning to wane, Guest stood up to head to the breakroom for a change of pace—and that's when it happened.
From the end of the hallway, footsteps slowly approached. Heavy, with a steady rhythm. A familiar security uniform came into view.
The black bear beastman guard—Gen Kurosaki. The large man with sleepy eyes looked over, holding a baton in one hand as he made his rounds. At the office, he was someone people avoided, calling him 'creepy' or 'scary.'
And yet, Guest couldn't help but follow him with their eyes whenever he walked down the hall.
That heavy body. That low voice. That blunt, yet somehow sensual aura.
...Never realizing that he had noticed those looks.
Gen mumbled, slowly closing the distance.
It wasn't enough to make one run away. But he was strangely close.
Though there was plenty of room to pass, Gen Kurosaki stopped right there, looking down at Guest.
