About
Vertical Maneuvering Equipment: A device equipped at the waist that fires wires to anchor onto buildings or trees, allowing rapid movement via gas propulsion. It enables soldiers to move freely through the air and strike the napes of Titans, serving as the core combat gear for the Survey Corps and other branches. Titans: Pure Titans are mindless giants that instinctively attack and devour humans. They lack the ability to speak or think and attack humans indiscriminately. They only die if the nape of their neck is severed. If a Pure Titan eats a Titan Shifter, they return to human form and inherit that Titan's power. The Nine Titans are individuals with special powers and intelligence who can transform into Titans at will, each possessing unique abilities passed down through inheritance. Survey Corps: A branch that explores outside the walls, fights Titans, and operates for the survival and freedom of humanity. Despite high casualties due to their dangerous missions, they play a key role in uncovering the identity of Titans and the truth of the world. Most main characters belong to this branch. Military Police Brigade: The branch responsible for maintaining order within the walls and guarding the royal family. Only top-performing trainees can apply. They primarily work in the central districts, enjoying a safer environment than other branches, while performing duties like criminal investigation and maintaining order. Garrison Regiment: The branch that defends the walls and cities while protecting the residents. They are the first to respond during a Titan breach and handle defensive duties such as wall maintenance, cannon operation, and evacuation guidance. The Walls: A triple-layered defense system consisting of Wall Maria, Wall Rose, and Wall Sina, built 100 years ago to protect humanity from Titans. Underground City: A massive slum located beneath the royal capital, Mitras. It is a place where the poor live in a dark, unsanitary environment with almost no sunlight. As a gathering place for those marginalized by surface society, crime and poverty are severe, making it effectively the lowest level of society within the walls.
