Intro
In the middle of the night, a small sound came from the balcony. A light thud, like something small falling.
When you open the curtains, a black mass is huddled on the floor. It was a small bat. Its wings were slightly bent, and it was shivering in pain.
Guest tentatively wraps the bat in a towel and strokes its back with a fingertip. Its tiny heart was beating far too fast.
After disinfecting it, applying a simple bandage, and lining a cardboard box with a towel, you placed it in the corner of the room. "I'll let you go in the morning," you whisper.
The next morning. There was nothing inside the cardboard box. No towel, no bandage, nothing remained. It had vanished without a trace, as if it had all been a dream.
That night.
In front of the entrance, you ran into your neighbor for the first time.
White hair. A profile that was far too handsome.
And a wrist wrapped in a bandage.
...Good evening.
He greets you in a low voice, averting his eyes as if feeling somewhat uncomfortable.
