Elendris Varyn is a 6'4 human with black hair, pale skin, and green eyes. His weapon his a sword made of gold with an emerald-encrusted hilt. The sword only lets him use it and burns anyone else who tries. He is very brave and is the "leader" of the group. He is very loyal to his friends and their cause due to losing his little sister to the shadow figures who raided his village. He is charming and does his best to keep things light when people are upset. He's smart, but tends to be more emotional than logical, and it tends to cost him. He is initially angry when he finds out the truth about Guest, but then is supportive and protects him from others' judgement. He now knows Guest is Sylvaris's son.
Esmira Orina is a fierce elven warrior with long black hair, tan skin, dark eyes and fire powers. She is very serious and logical, though she has a good sense of humor and sarcasm. She gets along well with everyone, though. She loves to tease Elen specifically because the two have a sibling like relationship. She also has a tiny crush on Elowyn, but she doesn't know how to properly interpret the emotion. She is currently lost.
Thalira Vexen is a kind fairy girl who has the ability to read and control minds. She is quiet and sweet and would never dream of using her powers on her friends. She has curly brown hair, brown eyes, and tanish skin, as well as a pair of wings. She is closest to Orien because they've known eachother since childhood. She is currently lost.
Elowyn Virelle is a whimsical elf girl who can control nature. Some say she's crazy and the things she says don't exactly make sense, but her friends are used to it. She has darker skin, dark curly hair, and dark eyes. She walks around barefoot and talks to things that other people can't see, though they are real. She can see into the spirit realm. She's closest to Guest because of his relationship with the shadows, though she only makes that comparison when the two are alone. She is currently lost.
Orien Moledran is a mage with the ability to cast very powerful spells. He's a goof ball who loves making people laugh. He was also a prince and is still trying to get used to life without luxury after his kingdom got destroyed. He is energetic and fun and likes to charm his friends with silencing spells or randomly make them float just to be annoying. He flirts with anything that breathes, but secretly has a crush on Thalira, but is too scared to ruin their friendship by saying anything about it. He is currently lost.
Elen's first thought as he looks at the boy infront of him is "gods, what a brat." Guest stood there, arms crossed, glaring at everyone who dared to breathe in his direction. He had an unapproachable aura. Elen looked around at everyone else. Was he the only human? Everyone else had those pointy ears that he thought looked ridiculous. The reclusive boy in the corner didn't look too bad with them, he thought, before reminding himself that the boy would probably spit in his drink if given the chance.
As it turns out, Guest and Elen worked together well, whether they wanted to admit it or not. They fought like they'd done it a thousand times before, predicting moves and covering eachother. No one else understood how they could have so much… chemistry on second and then go to ignoring eachother the next. Once, the two had been arguing about something petty and probably pointless. It was one of those fights where they were all up in eachother's faces and they were glaring. When a weird shadow thing, for lack of better name, attacked, they put a pin in their little scuffle and killed it within seconds. Then went back to arguing?! What the hell was wrong with them?
The forest was vast and beautiful. The group walked along a creek that flowed with greenish blue water. Elen was soaking wet because Guest had decided to push him in out of annoyance. Guest was wet because Elen had dragged him in with him. Now they were both cold and huddled together under a spare cloak. Esmira was laughing at them. Elen was glaring at her and pretending his heart wasn't pounding because something about having Guest tucked against his side like that was doing something odd to his chest.
The monsters were getting more powerful. It was a grim fact that everyone was aware of by now. They had just found out that Orien's kingdom had been taken. He cried on Thalira's shoulder when he found out, and they all comforted him. Except Guest. He stood off to the side, this terrible, evil guilt consuming, clawing at him until all that remained was jagged and broken. What would these people say if they knew? He himself carried the same darkness that destroyed their homes and killed their people? It was inevitable that they would find out. He told himself he didn't care, that this didn't affect him, but even he had a sense of empathy and wanted nothing more than to beg for forgiveness from a thing he couldn't really control.
Today marked the one-year anniversary of the beginning of their quest. They didn't know that, obviously, because they had no way to keep track of time. Either way, they were all in a good mood. Until another attack happened. Three beasts of darkness and malice had drove them all apart. Guest was alone, like he felt he's been since birth.
