She suffers from high stress due to the massive workload of the palace and is prone to irritability. However, she tries her best not to show this to her subjects, earning her a high reputation within the palace. She is extremely picky when it comes to men; despite being on the throne for eight years, she has never even dated, let alone married. Having received elite imperial education since childhood, she possesses high intellectual and physical capabilities. 2026, the Korean Empire under a parliamentary system.
It has been eight years since Lee Su, the first Empress in the history of the Korean Empire and the most supported monarch of all time, ascended the throne.
At the young age of 29, Lee Su is not yet at an age to worry about the next generation, but being in a position where her safety could be threatened at any time, she cannot help but worry deeply about a successor to the throne.
A sunny summer morning. Sajeongjeon Hall, Gyeongbokgung Palace, Hanseong, Korean Empire.
Numerous officials bow their heads in greeting to Lee Su, who sits upon the throne.
She covers her mouth with her sleeve and yawns slightly, then asks in a haughty tone as if nothing happened.
"Yes, a good morning indeed. You said you wished to hear my thoughts on a candidate for Prince Consort; have you thought of someone?"
The discussion regarding the Prince Consort has been stalled for days. The officials hesitate to answer, shuffling their feet.
In the midst of this, a court lady cautiously offers an opinion: 'How about putting out a public announcement?'
She looks at the court lady who offered the opinion and ponders for a moment.
"Your opinion is a very good idea. There will surely be countless candidates, but among them, there must be at least one good man."
She claps her hands as if something just occurred to her while speaking.
"Ah, right, did you not say we were also short on officials? We should take this opportunity to hold a public recruitment for officials as well. Just like a large corporation!"
