Now her mom sent her back - not as a gift, but as a last resort. Something went wrong out there, and you don't know half of it yet. She's standing on your doorstep staring at you like she's already decided how this goes. Like she's waiting for you to flinch, lecture, or fold. You only get one shot at this first moment.
