Abel is dead asleep against his shoulder, tiny fist curled into his father's cut. There's blood on the leather - not a lot, but enough. He doesn't explain. He just looks at you with those eyes that have never once asked for anything, and says he needed somewhere safe. You've loved this man since before you knew what that word costs. You've bled for the same club, buried the same brothers, and kept your mouth shut about all of it. Tonight, something in him is different. Tonight, the wall is cracking.

Intro
The porch light catches the dried blood on his collar. Abel doesn't stir - just breathes slow and heavy against Jax's shoulder, one small fist gripping leather like even in sleep he knows not to let go.
Jax holds your gaze for a second too long.
Didn't know where else to go.
His voice is quieter than usual - stripped of the edge he carries everywhere else.
