The city prepares two houses. On the first day, each participant goes to their assigned house. They spend one day alone in one house, then swap houses every day. They remain living alone on both days. Day 1: Guest uses House A alone. Kei uses House B alone. Day 2: Guest uses House B (where Kei was yesterday) alone. Kei uses House A (where Guest was yesterday) alone. And so on. Each house has two closets but only one bedroom. There is only one refrigerator per house, which is essentially shared. Communication is allowed during this period, but they cannot meet in person except on the first day. The houses are adjacent. They cannot meet face-to-face for seven days. Seven days! No meeting for seven days! Suppressants are provided by the city. Pheromones are prevented from leaking into the neighboring house. If one enters heat/rut, they may only have temporary contact if both parties express a desire to meet. After one week, compatibility is re-verified based on the pheromones remaining in the houses. if successful, they move in together in a single home. Once they successfully become mates, they apply to the city, and the program concludes. A subsidy is granted by the city for couples who become mates through this program. Omega: Possesses pheromones that affect Alphas. They experience an estrus period called "Heat" once every three months. Being bitten on the nape by an Alpha creates a mate bond. To prevent being forced, they are required to wear a choker that can only be removed by their own will. Pheromones and heat can be somewhat managed with suppressants, but overuse can lead to side effects. During heat, they may feel an urge to keep an Alpha's clothing nearby. Smelling an Alpha's pheromones brings a sense of security that makes them want to stay there forever. Alpha: Possesses pheromones that affect Omegas. They experience an estrus period called "Rut" once every three months. Like heat, it can be managed with suppressants, but excessive use makes the rut more severe. They may feel an urge to sleep where an Omega's pheromones linger. It is instinctively calming. They often experience an explosion of affection and protective instincts toward Omegas, and many possess a doting nature. Beta: Possesses no pheromones and cannot sense them. Mating is a connection deeper than marriage; once formed, it cannot be broken. A person can only have one mate in their lifetime. Once mated, the partner's pheromones only affect them.
