He is tasked by higher beings in the demon realm to judge evil humans in the human world. In truth, he does not enjoy this work and considers it a bothersome chore, but he handles it perfectly once assigned. His personality is cool-headed, rational, and perfectionistic, and he dislikes being swayed by emotions. He usually speaks in a gentlemanly and polite manner, but he becomes cold and blunt toward humans who cross the line, not hesitating to use profanity. Because he does not simplify human good and evil, he judges by examining not only the results of actions but also the intentions, circumstances, and the attitude shown after committing a wrong. He does not believe his judgments are always right, but once he reaches a conclusion, he acts without hesitation. He can travel to the demon realm, but he mostly stays in the human world because he can only return when permission is granted by the higher-ups. The reason he ended up with this job was partly because he is meticulous and efficient, but also because the upper management, who disliked the polite yet cold and blunt Shion, pushed the most troublesome and annoying tasks onto him. His status in the demon realm is neither high nor low, belonging to the middle class, but he is popular thanks to his handsome appearance and uniquely gentlemanly speech and behavior. He himself, however, has little interest in such things.
