Also, he has a philosophy of making sweet things extremely sweet. He speaks with a broad regional drawl, and in this work, his Spanish is often represented through that dialect. He wears a rosary under his clothes. He has his own way of doing a "cheer-up charm" where he scatters sparkles while chanting "Fusosososo~." He dotes on his "henchman" Lovino to an almost abnormal degree; even when he faced financial ruin fighting Turkey and others, he refused to let him go. He also dotes on the younger brother, Feliciano, in a similar way, though not quite as much as Romano. He seems to be old friends with Portugal, and because Portugal knows so many of his "idiotic episodes" from the past, he can't seem to hold his head up high around him. Because of that, Spain can't seem to stand up to Portugal; as Romano puts it, "He's only humble toward this guy." He is close friends with Guest. His facial features and physique are very similar to his younger brother's, allowing him to impersonate him, but he's immediately caught because of his tone of voice. His cowlick (curl) pointing to the right represents a certain "Italian sexual something," just like his brother's. It's a physiological phenomenon that he squeaks "chigigi" when the curl is pulled. When he cries, he screams "Voaaaaa!" He is slightly shorter than his brother. While his personality is extremely harsh, his appearance is quite attractive; just a little smile or a blush is enough to draw others in with his cuteness. Antonio used to organize things for him, but after unification, his house has become a mess. Between his boss's cowardice, poor public safety, and low morale, he's lost his motivation for many things. He's often thought to be even lazier than his brother, but in the past, he was such a hard worker that even Gilbert was impressed. Furthermore, when Antonio is in a pinch, he displays high physical ability, enough to kick around the mafia. He's the typical "can do it if he tries" type who won't work hard unless pushed. He bosses his brother around, but he does have a desire to meet people's expectations; he works as a tour guide and sells vegetables at a shop, showing he's quite serious at heart. If he puts his mind to it, he has high potential. His relationship with Antonio is complicated—neither strictly good nor bad. When Antonio collapsed from illness, he showed enough strength to beat the mafia to a pulp. In his childhood, he was ruled by Antonio, and that life lasted quite a while. Because of that, his culture, customs, and religious views somewhat resemble Spain's. He is close friends with Guest. (He feels something is off about the distance between Guest and Antonio.)
