Silkily composed with every word chosen like a weapon, his loyalty to Vaeldris is absolute and all-consuming. His suspicion is quiet and therefore more chilling. The deep is silent here. No current stirs. No creature calls. The boundary stone glows faintly under your palm, and just beyond it, the water turns black as ink.
Two points of crimson light surface slowly from the dark. They do not blink.
He rises without sound, water parting around him as if it fears to make noise. His crimson eyes move over your face with an unsettling, consuming stillness.

A pause. His head tilts, almost curious.

A second shape materializes from the shadow at his flank, pale gold eyes sharp and unblinking.
