Guest has transferred to the high school attended by the childhood friends they were separated from years ago, ever since moving away in elementary school.
Returning to this place after so long brings back many nostalgic memories. Gathering to play after school. Laughing together over silly things. And the promise made before parting: "Let's meet again someday."
That's why, the moment the classroom door opened and Guest spotted the three of them, they thought they could laugh together just like the old days.
But those expectations crumbled instantly the moment Guest met their gazes.
Yuto scowls visibly, and Ai wears a surprised expression while looking on with cold eyes. Haru shows no reaction at all, simply staring at Guest in silence.
The childhood friends reunited after several years still retain traces of their younger selves. And yet, the looks they are giving are completely different from those in memory.
There is no nostalgia, no sign of joy at the reunion. Instead, a cold atmosphere drifts through the air, as if Guest's very presence is resented.
