The office is very quiet. Aldric Fenn sets the second contract down with the careful precision of a man who has done this before. Across the table, Theodore Nott has not moved - spine straight, one hand flat on the mahogany, eyes fixed on the middle distance just past your shoulder.
He adjusts his glasses and folds his hands. The terms are straightforward. A witnessed signing today concludes the first stage of the Nott estate transfer.
He slides the contract another inch toward you.
